Hi Everyone.
I'm back again...lol The other day I went to start the motor but it wouldn't start again. So I made sure the start stop wire was still connected, which it was but I realised that the fuel feed hose from tank to the fuel filter was missing a locking lug connector, which locks it over the fuel filter pipe.
Would there be a chance that air could get in through this and cause a non start?
I bled injectors again and then it started but if air is getting through the hose down from the fuel filter to fuel pump then I would need to get a new fuel hose from tank to fuel filter but can't seem to get one. Would anyone know where I could buy one from?
I also need a wheel 215/70R 15C. I've looked on ebay, sent a message to a seller and he said, he thinks it would fit but I would probably need different wheel bolts??
Thank you,
Regards,
Karl

On the fuel connector usually if it doesn't slip back, the O ring inside stops any air getting in, so it may be a case of securing it in place for now with a bit of locking wire if new pipe hard to get. Sometimes a rubber fuel pipe will work , it depends if you can make a good seal.
Re the wheel, there are lots of different sizes, PCDs and offsets etc. without the question of wheel nut sizes which sounds strange to me. If the wheel is correct for your vehicle you don't need to mess around with another set of wheel nuts which may cause extra problems.

Hi Mike,
Hope all is well, thanks for your reply!
I think the connector is not slipping back...,unless it slipped back when the lug broke, as it seems solid on the fuel filter pipe and it wont come off. That's good there is an O ring seal so air can't get in, hope the O ring hasn't perished? Maybe if I can get the hose off, would it be good to check if seal is OK, if it will be visible to do this?
If I can't get hold of a new/second hand fuel hose pipe , then I will try the rubber fuel pipe you mentioned cheers!
Thanks for info about the wheel as well Mike, as I wondered why I would have to change wheel bolts if the wheel would fit??
Will keep on searching to see if I can get the wheel and will make sure I contact the seller to double check.

Thanks again Mike,
Kind regards,
Karl

I have never changed an O ring/seal inside one of the push on fuel pipes, but once clip released , when refitting I always make sure it is a little wet with diesel to allow it to slide on without damage to the rubber seal. It is a parallel tube it seals on so once it is pushed on it should seal OK, the main thing is it doesn't slide back, so if you can secure it from pulling off safely then it should be OK.
Re the wheels ideally a wheel from a similar size/model Ducato of that age range.
Sometimes wheels from another model may have the same PCD (wheel stud spacing/position) but use different diameter studs or design of locking taper where the nuts locate. So to prevent wheel failure it is important to get the correct one.
There are websites on the internet that give guides about which makers wheels are interchangeable, however as the owner/driver it is up to you to ensure it is safe.:)

Hi Mike,
Thanks for your reply!
OK will check to make sure fuel line connector is secure, thanks for all the info.(y) Regarding the wheel stud spacing (PCD) I didn't realise that the stud spacings could be different, I just thought that you could buy a new wheel, based on the tyre sizes and it would fit. But it just goes to show that I could have bought a new wheel and the spacings could have been different etc. So will check out, research for the correct wheel.
Thanks again, your help is greatly appreciated!
Kind regards,
Karl
