Hi all
A family friend recently dropped off his 131 to have a few little things done. It is a 1983 Y reg MK3 1600 Mirafiori CL which he has owned since about 1986 & still using it as a daily driver to this day, suprising it is all solid underneath. It has had the odd bodywork repair over the years but nothing major, it really is a real survivor car but being parked up in London streets day after day hasn't been very kind to the paintwork so I thought that I would spend my saturday cleaning it up for him, here are some before pics with the very badly faded paint.

So I started off by giving it a pre wash with ValetPro snow foam & then treated it to a well desreved scrub, the car was then clay barred with Meguiars Smooth Clay bar, followed by machine compounding with Meguiars Ultimate Compound, then I machine polished the car with Autoglym Radiant Wax Polish & finished it off with Meguiars Ultimate Liquid Wax. Although I knew that it wouldn't come up perfectly as it has had some paint touch ups that did not quite match the colour, I think I have beaten my own expectations with it as it has come up really good for a 38 year old 131. So after 7.5 hours on a boiling hot day here are the results, I think they speak for themselves.

Our friend will be very happy when he picks it up as it is his pride & joy, a saturday well spent. :slayer:
