106 GTi in Black

Introduction

Hi guys

so not realy had a car as such since my Alfa got written off :(. So after gettign my money i set to searchng for a car.

I needed soemthing not to expensive on the fuel, not to much on insurance (like the alfa wud of been this time round) and fun and easy to work on.

I ended up with a 1998 106 GTi in Black with 103k on the clock, The paintwork and interior is amazing for a car of this age and milage. Collected it on Thursday.

Things to do/Items Wanted:

* Full Exhaust System inc Manifold(Kam/Pugsport or similar)
* Induction Kit (BMC Closed?)
* White Raptors/Cyclones (Or another get of nice alloys in white)
* Lowered (havent decided if i will and if so by how much)
* Uprated Brakes (306 Brakes?)
* Upper Strutbrace
* Painted/Polished Rocker Covers
* Tidy up the Engine Bay

Alot more but thats just the ideas for future of the top of my head

Heres some pics: (last one is from when i had the front wheels balanced)
these are very nice cars, and are very fast for a little car, i have had many races with these and lost :) lol just wish i could have one lol

Thanks alot guys. :D

Yeh they are pretty nippy i must say, i love the way it pulls in any gear all the way through the revs literally from idle.

Just cleaned up the TB, seems to bit a tad smooth now so all good.

Ill wack some more pics up later, uploaded em at 106oc but not allowed to link.....

So i got round to my first 'mod'.

De-badge Boot Lid

Got my self my Brothers Hairdryer , yes thats right, HIS hair dryer . a Wash mitt, bucket, t-cut and two clothes.

Didnt take me to long, and came out quite nice, still need to wash rest of car

I think it looks alot better, alot smoother and cleaner.

Next mod is to spray the bonnet badge black.

Nice job, what you plan to do next? ;)

well......

So a little bit of an Update.

I brought my self an Alpine CDE-104BTi Headunit from someone of 106owners. Fitted this upon arrival, very happy with it but still got to use it while driving.
Not got the right cage for it so looks a bit fugly but will do for now. =)

Also tonight i went to see someone of the 106owners to collect a Nissens Radiator and an OMP Strutbrace in Blue.

The strut will be going on tomorrow hopefully, dont know about the rad yet, when i get some time realy.

Pictures and updates on fitting to come.

niice, ive always preferred these to the alternative Saxo. Much nicer looking with a better badge too ;)

Yep alot better than said saxo, slightly, only slightly less dangerous in a crash :p

They are fast little things they are and ill be keeping an eye on the project, doing the mods is the best bit! ;)

be interested in the engine bay bits too, my pride and joy was my bay in the punto.

good stuff!

Ive got alot planned like exhaust, window tints, engine bay tridy up etc but its down to money for mods and for insurance. Although im already toying with the idea of changing for work purposes.... s3?

I was thinking about getting one of these, would a high mileaged one be prone to problems? (like a fiat lol)

As long as you buy one tats been looked after no. everything is so simple to maintain your self and it isnt expensive either. Best place to look is at www.106owners.co.uk =)

So not fitted the above yet due to time/insurance, gonna add multiple parts at same time to save insurance fees.

But the car is currently playing up, if anyone has any ideas please look at....

Also im thinking about doing some vinyl wrapping. Undecided what to do parts wise and whether to go matte black, carbon,or something a bit more in your face.

heres a picture of some stuff done (struggling to get matte blak effect in PS)

Bonnet
Mirrors
Door Handles
Fuel Cap
Alloys (yes im comtemplating wrapping alloys....)
