Just thought there might be some interest in my Panda's efforts at some local autosolos.
If you don't know what one is then there's a brief explanation here:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autosolo

...and here's some of my footage

P.S. apologies they're not clickable links but seems I'm not allowed to create those as I'm a first-poster newbie ;-)

Nice work - and something the 100hp is suited to out of the box I imagine. Disappointed that there's no footage of you handbrake parking it between 2 cars with a few inches to spare. Keep it up.

You're not wrong car seems to love it, best analogy I've got is it's a bit like driving Scrappy-Doo.
As for the other thing, give it time, we'll see what we can do :D

Sorry for the slow response, I didn't get a notification for some reason.
Anyway, the best thing to do is to get along to your local motor club, "www.gomotorsport.net" has a list of most of them.
There are events running all over the country, so see if there's one near you.
Other than joining a club, and having an MOT and insurance, that's pretty much all you need to do to take part.
Autosolos are designed to attract new people to motorsport so the barriers to entry are kept as low as possible.
Entries are typically around £30, which is pretty good going for a full day's sport, and other than a bit of tyre-wear and some fuel that's all it should cost you.
Good luck, if you have any more specific queries, just ask ;-)

Better steering lock (maybe)

Can't see why - the rack will hit the stops in the same place whatever wheels are fitted (unless the wheels actually foul against something).

But I'd agree fitting a cheap set of wheels makes sense on lots of other counts - including damage limitation.

Hit full lock on one course round a tight roundabout, other than that the hp seems great out of the box. Had loads of fun and came first in the group!

Great result for your first attempt - wondered if you were one and the same, I was there too in an altogether inferior vehicle this time ;-)
