I had the car a a very good price brand new after a fiat dealer screwed my bakes on my old GT and i plowed into a hedge. It looks hot with the abarth kit and alloys but it drives like a sausage. My old car kicked ass but i cant afford insurence to have a transplant or anything major......
how can i get the most power from the minor, lightweight and to be honest pathetic 60 BHP engine.

Cheers....

Use good petrol, use the whole rev range (not just the top, sometimes the low end can help in loosening things up), and practice fast gear changes. I have a 2000 8v and it goes fine. I haven't needed to do any mods to get the kind of performance I want for driving cross country. Another tip is to use the cornering ability/grip...

60 bhp sucks, my change is quick, i use optimax and the tyre a pirelli and its still no mach for corsa's and such other hatchbacks.
has anyone got some good perfomance increasing advice thats not to expensive.

induction kit or panel filter, sports exhaust or back box (back is where most of the restriction is). After that, you're talking much more money.

I have considerably more mods, THAN YOU!

Yup.
Next stage is cams, head work, NOS, turbos, programmable ecu's etc. - may be cheaper to buy a faster car.
