Yes yes yes I know how many threads on fog lights there are, but after searching through them, none actually say which screws you need for mounting them? Plus, does anyone have a diagram (hopefully Andy ;) ) of how to mount them?


P.S. If you fit the fog lights with no wiring etc (just for show) will it pass an MOT? I've heard all fitted lights have to work?

There seems to be a lot of confusion whether front fogs are tested. Rear fogs are compulsory and are tested, and some say, that if two optional front fogs are fitted, then they both have to work when operated.

However VOSA say that front fog lights are 'optional' lights and not part of the test.

Don't forget adding fog lights that don't work adds weight, costs money, and will reduce the acceleration of your car, and your credibility amongst your peers. It's almost as baaaaaad as wearing a baseball cap back to front.

has one not found the search button at the top of the forum yet :p

they are fitted with 3x M6 bolts each i used m6x25mm socket caps for the lower and cut and ground some washer to suit and a countersunk bolt for the top mount

Does the wire from the relay to the switch have to be 17amp or can i just use a very small wire?

This is my relay, can you tell what the switching current is? I was going to use the ground from the radio to ground my switch and ground the relay through the battery. The length from the switch to the relay will be about 2m, thanks for the help!

how are you linking the wire to the relay the standard blue crimps dont like gripping fine cable and its more prone to breakage you'd be fine probably using 5a cable


why not just ground it via the black negative wire on the fag lighter? as per the wiring diagram?

Ye I was thinking it wouldn't grip well, could I not solder it to the relay? My wire is tiny and I'm not sure what amp it is, it's the black wire on the left in the photo, will this be ok?

How do you get under the lighter, does it come out?
