I've see no reports of 500s going on fire unlike one of its key competitors.
Are those alloys salvageable ?

The rear ones look ok! Maybe you can find the guy online. Thats definately a write off, and it would be interesting to know how that happened. It doesnt look like just an engine fire as has been mentioned before.
 
I think it is obvious what happened. This unfortunate did not read The Winter Tyre Thread and so failed to fit appropriate rubber for the recent snowy weather. This meant that the driver simply spun his wheels without moving until the heat in the tyres built up to the point of spontaneous combustion. And the rest is history...

I thought that the ordinary tyres worked best in warmer temps. :confused: I think you may have it about face, I imagine he spun his winter tyres and once they reached temps in excess of 7C they caught fire, lol. :rolleyes:

ps. I thought that only people could spontaneously combust. :p

It looks like a cheap way of tinting the rear windows.
