Good to see there are still some people around with common sense:slayer:

I think its more for looks than anything else - a fun project with some spare parts.

To give some of the posters some credit there's probably some legal reason what Fiat have not produced a rear hatch roof carrier aside from the snow board carrier. But anyone out there looking to improve their 'boot' carrying capacity without resorting to a roof rack there could consider modifying the snow board carrier. If you dad can 'knock together' the novel picnic basket carrier credit should be give to someone whose has actually done something.

Traditionally the Classic 500 would have had a rear carrier at the back. If you google "youtube 500F electric conversion a little story" you'll see one at 0:30

Topgear covered some of the accessories items that Capital Jeeps in the US did which you can see on their site. Carrier is covered at 1:30 and looks like our Fiat one but I'm not sure.

I would imagine that you would remove it for an MOT as those boys would eat all the pies.

Naah, I would leave it on for the heck of it but extend the 3rd brake light :)

here is my master plan... his dad is a claver chap suggest he gets a bunch of those cheap fibre optic type strands from a crappy lamp, position the bunched up end on 50% of the 3rd light and feed the strands into the basket, when the brake comes on the entire back end of basket lights up, job done, pies eaten, MOT passed, police happy.
