Styling MK1 on Banded Steel Wheels

Hi everyone,
Has anyone or does anyone know someone who has fitted a set of banded steel wheels on their MK1?

Inward thinking about it and was wondering if anyone had done it or knew if any pics of what it looks like?

Thought they'd been banned long ago. Had a great set widened from 3.5" to 5.5" with 185/70 Goodyear crossply Wide Ovals rubbing the arches on my Ford Prefect 100E fitted with 1200 Kent engine, GT clutch, 4sp box and no brakes to speak of. Wd chirp the tyres going into 2nd, on the v short original diff!

They're still legal, but just be very careful that whoever does it knows exactly what they're doing.

yep i seen plenty of places offering them, not seen them on a punto that i can remember - but sure someone somewhere will have done it.

How poncey! - the weld bead used to be part of the look, but now they smooth it away.
