Hi Guys.

I have a 2015 Fiat Doblo 1.6 MultiJet Panorama & it currently has 223000kms on the clock. I bought it on 207000kms in Nov 2023.

2 months in & the water pump & tensioner pulley seized up causing the cambelt to jump 3 teeth on the camshaft pulley & broke 8 rockers.

After all said & done, upon first start-up the mechanic noticed that an injector sprung a leak & replaced the copper washer that serves as a seal; issue resolved.

Since the waterpump, tensioner, cambelt, rockers & injector seal has been replaced, the car was lacking power & heavier on fuel too.

Took the car back, they found that the timing was out by one tooth & corrected the issue. Although there is a change in the torque delivery it still feels sluggish.

Prior to this all, the fuel consumption averaged on 5l/100km but now I am having to deal with 7-8l/100km.

The engine is also losing about 200ml of water
every 1000kms, even after the waterpump, etc has been replaced. They've done a pressure test & no visible or notable leaks. There is no warning lights or other issues.

Can the issue be as simple as a faulty injector, timing or am I missing something else?

My car is under warranty that covers any mechanical or electrical faults. The mechanic is an engine specialist that was recommended by the Insurance company.

His suggestion is that our next step is to replace the injectors & hope that will resolve the issue.

Any help, advice or feedback will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

None of the above would account for the water loss (although on my 2010 1.6 Doblo Maxi van a new rad cap made a difference to slight water level drop, due to water boiling at a lower temp when not under pressure)
Personally if vehicle isn't right and under warranty I would get the insurance company to "lean on" the engine specialist, especially if economy was good prior to cam belt failure then unlikely to be injector related!:)
