Hi. I have a 2001 Punto with a radio cassette player - Blaupunkt "Fiat Punto Low". Upon examining the back of the unit, I can see it has empty pins for an 8 pin ISO connector. Can this connector be used for aux in i.e an mp3 player and if so, how is it selected on the stereo itself when currently I can only select between radio and tape? Do I need a special adaptor that fools the radio into thinking a cd changer is connected?

Any help gratefully appreciated...........

Thanks

I ain't sure how exactly the an MP3 etc may be connected but you may be right in it being through the pins you've dicovered.

As for selecting your AUX feature. As soon as you link up your MP3 player or CD Changer the head unit will automatically give you the AUX selection choice.

When I added a CD Changer to my old Punto's Cassette radio after wiring it in to the headunit the AUX feature was automatically abled for selection :)

Thanks. I bought a lead the other day that has just the audio pins of the mini iso connected to a 3.5mm jack, plugged it in the back and unfortunately no AUX selection. I've found a pinout for the connector and there are pins for DATA I/O, 12V Constant, 12V Switchable. Is there a wiring trick I can do with these pins to enable the aux?

Thanks

hi i need a blaupunkt car radio cassette code for punto 2004 please, info is:
BP-NR 7642 374 316
PROD-NR FIAT 735 337 935
815 BP237436992809
ANY IDEAS OR HELP PLEASE :)

I think you need to enable the AUX function, this is usually done via a menu when the unit is switched off. Try pushing the menu button when the ignition is on but the stereo is off. Pretty sure thats how I've done it on Pioneer, Sony, JVC and Clarion stereos in the past.
