Hi,

I have got a punto again now. Its a mk2 but its reverse light dosnt work, i have checked the fuse and bulb so it must be a problem with the switch.I have looked at old treads which say that its on the gearbox but i cant find it.

so if anyone could give a bit more detail that would be great.

If its anything like the few fiats i have tinkered with

its on the front of the gear box (bolted in with a plug on the back) if you look into the engine bay its on the right of the gear box ((as you stand looking in from the front)) between the box and the radiator

thats my GP engine bay but i know the stilo is the same so hope your mk2 is similar

Its the gold hex (bolt head)

directly below where my socket is on the clutch actuator


IMMSMC and i hope someone can confirm before you do this

it (the switch) works by grounding (there is only one wire to it) so undo the plug and put a paper clip into the contact of the plug and touch the the gear box and your reversing light should come on if thats the case new switch time

My reverse switch is fine, but thumbs up and thanks for the great pictures

Hi guys,

Following on from this, my drivers side reverse light is not working. I have tried putting a new bulb in and checked the fuse but it will not come on. All lights on the right hand strip work fine, as does the left hand side reverse light. Any ideas what might be causing this?

Depending on the model,but most only have reverse lamp on the passenger side.

Only 1 fog and 1 Reverse light on Punto Mk2 and Mk2b's

Unless you were sad and swapped 1 cluster for a LHD version to have 2 fogs scrapping the reverse light
