So,
I've done some reserch based on above sympthoms.
A. please can you locate Air Intake Temerature Sensor (OE part no.77364617, M.Marelli ATS 05/00) somewhere on intake air duct - see attached photo. It is item 102 on attached wiring diagram. Follow the cables connected to the sonsor, as you can see the back (N) cable goes to groung junction point that the first point to be inspected for broken cable, week ground, etc. Green (V) cable goes to pin 13 at ECU connector- using multimeter check cable. If cables are fine, use multimeter to check the resistence between the sensor pins - please refer to attached spec sheet for Ohms vs. Ambient temperature.

Let us know your findings.

Hmm. Been thinking of late about my Panda. I love it to bits, but I feel a bit bad using it as a daily and putting miles on it :(

It had 34k on it when I got it just over a year ago - it's now on 47k.

Most Pandas out there seem to have low (<40k) milages - why is this? Is it mainly only the low milers that have survived this far?

What sort of mileages annual do people put on theirs? I'm on 12k for the last year - wouldn't think twice about that in any other car, but as it's so old it seems a little cruel.

I'm firmly a 'cars should be used' person, but for some reason I feel a bit bad about doing this in the Panda.

What's wrong with me?

There are quite a lot of high mileage ones out there too. (y) we had a high mileage thread somewhere - my 4x4 is around 129000 miles for example. There have been 4x4's well over 250k in rural areas too.

I think a lot of the really nice ones coming onto the market are low mileage because their elderly owners have stopped driving. That's where my low mileage ones have come from.

You tend to hear more about the low mileage ones - there's not much noteworthy about a Panda with 70000 miles.

My Sisley does about 4000 a year now, mainly because I have too many cars to choose from! It's actually covering more miles than any of the others, with the Abarth not even doing 2000 last year......

Absolutely nothing. (y)

Pippin and Betty were both bought with around 25k on them. Pippin will get used as a daily -- eventually -- but Betty will be cherished (especially as she's such an early Mk2): although, like you, generally, I'd rather cars were driven (unless they are rare/unique...).

I think there are a lot of low-milers out there because either they were bought by people as a cheap car just to do the odd journey in (or used only for very local travel); or just got garaged, and left (although I don't really understand why...).

Thats a new one on me, I suspect thats probably only 1 in 3 Panda's on here at best if everyone put mileage in the car list that homeward sorts.

As others have said, there are plenty of other low mileage examples with over 100k on the clock :)

That's a really good idea. After a couple of large glasses of vin rouge, though, I will have to have a thunk how we update it each year....

Pumped up Vicky's tires today ready for her first spin out of the year when I tax her on Tuesday 1st.

I washed her about 2 weeks ago, just need to give a good wax and back to black on the bumpers and trim pieces.

I was getting on for doing 10k a year in my Panda when she was my daily driver but had a bit of a naff winter so she's since been unused (although will shortly be put back into service hopefully (y))
Not so much a fan of Pandas in the winter but maybe I just had bad luck this time round, everything might be plain sailing next winter...
