Hello,
I am from Slovakia and I have red Fiat Panda 4x4 Trekking 1991:cool:. I want to ask you for help. I lift my Panda´s front axel by metal bases under the suspension and I want to lift the rear too. But what I want to know is, that can I make diff. lock in the rear axle? Is there somebody who have diff lock on classic Panda? And if is, how is it possible to make?
Thanks a lot for answer.

(and I want to sorry about my English if there are some mistakes:rolleyes:)

Hi!

I think the only chance is to ask our friends from italian Panda 4x4 Club: http://www.panda4x4.info/forum/index.asp or portugal: http://www.panda4x4.net/ In my opinion they are the best in the world in tuning 4x4 Pandas. Some of them are also members of FiatForum. But I don't remeber that they have diff locks. But my memory is not so good;)

BTW: Bratislava is not far from Warsaw:D We drove thru Bratislava to Budapest two years ago.

Hi,
Thank you for your advice(y). Iwill ask them too.
Is somebody who heard about diff lock on classic Panda?:) Is it looks so imposible or stupid:)?(because I thing its posible to do it but I dont know that somebody had something like it)

Budapest is nearer then Warsaw. If you will see somwhere in west Slovakia red Panda with very big wheels on, its posible that ist me:devil:(y)

What does it mean - very big wheels? I have 155R13 on my 4x4 and I think they are big:)
About seeing your Panda - I plan to organize a meet with serbian Pandafans in the spring, maybe in Slovakia, near Domica cave, about halfway between Belgrade and Warsaw. Maybe then we will be able to see your Panda?(y)

Yes 155R13 are big but my 165R13 is that what I mean "very big wheels" on Panda:). I have to cut the bumpers and side panels little bit because that wheels are so big:).

Oh I am affraid that it will be small problem for me to come:cry:. Thank you very much for invite. If it will be posible for me I will come.

I will try to add some foto to garage if I am able to do it so if you want and if I´ll be succesfull you can take a look at the best OFF-ROAD that I ever have:D

Do you take your Panda sometimes off-road?:)

eh:confused: same as mine, no cutting involved, even on lowered springs. Is there a load of extra suspension travel or something?

I just lift it for 33milimetres by bases under the suspension. I don´t change anything on suspension. But now I need to lift rear too because it make some bad sounds just when I drive through holes in the road:).

Sorry but I disagree with you:). I think that designer of Panda 4x4 didn´t know what is he creating. And if he knew it, he is genius. I think that Panda 4x4 is somethimes better then my Cherokee:). Really!
I like when I come somwhere where is lot of mud or terrible terrain and everybody who was laughing on my Panda and thought that I am crazy when I want to drive through because there will stuck almost every real off-road is...:eek::eek::). It happened to me very often because almost nobody know what is Panda 4x4 about:).

And if you want to see my Panda look at the Garage there on FF;). I put there some photos. These photos are with that "very big wheels" but before I lift "her":)

Yes, I agree with you, and I know capablities of Panda 4x4:D

Thanks;)(y). One problem of Panda is that lot of people don´t believe and laugh on Panda. That is why I like to take a chance to show some people what Panda 4x4 can do:D. There in Slovakia isn´t lot of Panda´s. And if there is some, it´s often 4x2. Or maybe I am living in bad part of Slovakia:)

Yes, 165/80 R13;)(y). But now they almost:( doesn´t rub. That´s next reason for lift the rear axel:). Hopefully... lift and make diff. lock

There's also a 4x4 in Poprad. And probably some more somewhere. In Poland there are not many 4x4's also.

Yes(y). I know this Panda. I think it´s Sysley. I know about one in west of Slovakia near Senica but I saw this Panda in 2006 and her owner got her only for winter. And next 4x4 is not very far from my home (just about 5 kilometres:)) but this have broken fuel pump and owner - my friend don´t want to repair it because like he said " I buy it for my son and he won´t repair it. It´s his problem":(. I don´t know about some other but there is little bit more 4x4´s then I know:).

Hi Martin and Sutjeska, many greetings from SRB........
Best 4x4 modification is given onto Portugal 4x4 Panda-Fans on:
http://www.panda4x4.net/

TIP: Use Google toolbar-to translate, or just see word file I attached (extracted from Portugal Tips-given into mentioned links

For wider tires, you must use professional spacers (distancers)......depending of tire profiles 165/65, 165/70, 165/80..........gooooooogle for this spacers and distancers, and be ready to metal-cutting all wings........Specially be cearfull to fuel tank intake tube - to prevent contact with wheels.

@Sutjeska - I still have trumendous business-trips through SRB and nearby (non-stop, and almoust -become inventory of landcruiser too), so I am not so active onto FF..........Stay in touch (Many, many thanks for photos and Polski- Stickers.....)

Hi, Aca and thank you very much for your tip. Many greetings from Bratislava to the Belgrad and to the Warsaw too:).

It is incredible that I meet you - the Slav´s there(y).

I will try it with that google toolbar. My small problem Wasn´t the wide of tyres but their height. But now almost everything is OK;). But I am affraid about that fuel tank intake tube. But I have to lift rear axel and I think I don´t have to care about it anymore. I have some plan how to do it and I hope it will be right. But I really want that diff. lock:D.
I can´t agree with that doc. that you add there. I use 3.3cm and that chamber isn´t so bad. But it´s true that I have to go for geometry:).

Thank you again. Now I go to try that google toolbar(y)

Pandafreaks are everywhere, even on (in) Mars:D Is it true, Jim?
