This is for the rear door handle

Not all can be fixed, if corrosion is too much I found it hard to get them to work again. But it's worth the try.

I would estimate 1-2 hours for this job.

Fig 1: Removing the red "unlocked" cover

This is quite tedious, a very small Phillips screwdriver is useful. Then I used a little bigger Phillips to get the whole cover off.

Fig 3: Put a Phillips screwdriver to the car clip and gentle prise off

Fig 8: Remove the inside of the door. Please be gentle and apply even force from the inside. After the first "snap" I squeezed my hand in between and got the rest of the fixation loose

Fig 9: Two fixation's didn't came off

Fig 10: Pulled them out and put them on the back of the inside of the door

Fig 12: Remove on at the bottom of the anti-theft bracket

You don't need to remove the anti-theft bracket, only tilt it away to gain access to the screw holding the door handle

Fig 14: Remove this cover to gain access to the second screw holding the door handle

Fig 16: I cleaned the spring and the hinges with a chain cleaner, and a lot of WD40 until the operation of the door handle was normal

Fig 17: I put a small piece of steel to add more twist to the spring

Like I said before I was unsuccessful getting the door handle to function normally on the other side. The car has always been parked with that side to a busy street for the last 11 years !

Great guide and thanks for taking the time to produce it. Another one that we need to have made 'sticky' somewhere for our home produced workshop manual.

Cheers
Mark

Very useful guide :worship: Thanks! Some months ago I had to replace the little plastic piece you can see in fig 16 , at the right side, and takes me one or two hours to made it

I was able to get all door handles loose, soaked them in WD40 over night and got them working this morning.
