Cinquecento Rusz' Cinquecento Sporting - Piccolo Blu

Introduction

Many of you already know this car thanks to Freebo and imolajon from ClubCento. But after his recent purchase of an Abarth Punto Supersport, John felt the time had come.

Like Freebo himself, this has been kept a closely guarded, with John having the cinq for days before turning up at one of YorkshireITALIA's meets with Piccolo. Over the past month Me and John had been in discussions, and even when blu73 Eklipze3k came to work on the car we had to keep it quiet. :)

So I bought Piccolo Blu, to keep him at YorkshireITALIA and because of how beautiful and well kept the car is, and thats not easy to pass up on.

I don't have many plans for it. Mainly clean it up and possibly replace the vinyl roof. The main idea is to keep her as a show car. But the first plan is to rebadge her with Cinq and Sporting badges

Here's the list of modifications;
EBC Turbo Discs and Green Stuff pads
175x50x13 A539 Yokohama Tyres
Tricker 40mm throttle Body
BMC CDA Air Filter
Supersprint 4-2-1 Manifold
Sports Cat
Janspeed centre section and rear box
Black head lining
Monroe Gas shock absorbers
40mm PI lowering springs
Chequred vinyl roof

At TRAX2012 Piccolo Blu got a run on a rolling road and was tested at 71.1bhp. Not bad for a 1.1l :cool:

Here's a few photos for you to enjoy;

Hi Chaps. On here at last.:)

Haven't done much with 'Piccolo Blu' yet apart from replaced the centre and rear exhaust; replaced the back seats and given it a polish. Haven't used it much yet as I'm in the process of moving house but will begin making some changes later this year. Next things this year will be powerflex bushes, then uprated rear brakes, then next year the original plan was to upgrade to a 1.4, but has anyone tried a twinair in one of these? are they a small enough lump to fit; do they share the same mounting points are the FIRE/Starjet, how tuneable are they?

Dry weather use only is the plan and it's strictly kept indoors so I'm expecting this one to last!

Body and paint is in pretty good condition but have thought about changing the colour to Campovolo grey with red trim and white multi spoke wheels; a la current 500, but a bit torn really 'cause there aren't many Imola Blue Cinq's about, and it looks pretty cool as is.

It's developed a misfire though (n)so I've been scouring the threads on here to see if there's a cure. Symptoms are: intermittent misfire (can be cold or warmed up) and the injector light comes on at the same time - sometimes it goes away, sometimes not. Patched up the breather hose from the rocker cover to the TB as it had split, but made no obvious difference. Other potential things I've picked up from FF threads are: throttle potentiometer, crank sensor, water temp sensor or even ECU...haven't got round to these yet but if you have any other advice I'd appreciate your help. (btw Air cleaner vacuum hoses are missing but can't make out where they'd lead to anyway).

Cheers

welcome welcome...

As you have had a engine management light first port of call would be code read.. you need vagcom cable and fiat 3-pin to OBD adaptor (ebay for both) and to download IAW Scan which is free, http://sourceforge.net/projects/iaw-scan2/

I could throw out some guesses as to what it might be but just get the cables and software, it will cost about half what a garage will charge to read the codes for you and then you have it for every time you might need it.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. Where's the location of the socket to plug into please?

Took it to Walkers in South Otterington to get the exhaust fitted and they ran a diagnostics whilst it was there, but could only find an old fault. So perhaps it's time to start the DIY route!

There's a diagram of where all the hoses go in the Guides.

I'd try a code read again.

Is this a momentary cough type misfire, or a running on one cylinder less kind of misfire?
