I know some of you will be pleased, some wont. I just received this email

Hi
Bauer Media has reluctantly taken the decision today to suspend the monthly publication of Max Power magazine and its accompanying website.

We anticipate that the February issue of Max Power, on sale 12th January 2011, will be the last issue in its current guise and will be a collectable super-sized issue celebrating modifying past and present. It will embrace all that is great within our scene and boast more feature cars than ever before. This really will be an event that’s not to be missed and a fitting celebration to the incredibly colourful, loud and irreverent history of Max Power.

It is our intention to keep the Max Power brand alive in the future with a series of “one shots” and special issues and some possible exciting new adventures. Keep your eyes peeled for future new projects and we will endeavour to keep you updated with all the latest news from the Max Power brand.

I’d like to personally thank you for your support of Max Power.

Max Power

Its a sad day TBH. It did all go down hill when Feminist Racers made them abolish the Naked muff.
A lot of us have "chav" cars. That is the point of modification to one degree or another. Im sure there wouldnt be one single issue of Max power that doesnt have at least one car we would love to own.

Whilst it wasn't my cup of tea I'm saddened that a magazine has gone under. Jobs lost anywhere is a bad thing at the moment. And despite the chav factor, it was a car magazine. In a world that increasingly hates the car and increasingly hates the car modifier even more any loss of momentum is a Bad Thing.

Didn't they have rebrand in the not so distant past, pulling away slightly from the chavvy nature of how it used to be?

shame :(

That was one of the best simpsons episodes ever. when homer revealed he got his name from a hair dryer :ROFLMAO: I have never looked at a copy of maxpower to be honest. Shame about the jobs, I guess magazines is another thing a lot of people have to cut down on at the moment

it did but new people didn't start to buy it so it went back slightly to how it was to keep the ones that did buy it happy, it featured a lot more cars like jamies gp and coils stilo, not the ott body kited cars of the past, but still no one was intrested. no one is really going to buy some thing when its free on the net, you used to have to buy a mag to see a modified car or find ads of where to buy mods, now we have the net no need for a mag, like porn i cant even remember the last time i see porn on paper:confused:

i stopped reading it when modifying in it got stupid with bodykits that made the cars look too distant from their original guise. It was good when it was focussed on the engines and mechanical mods, as well as ice and interior.

I binned a load of mid to late 90's max powers recently

I remember ehn Max power was Massive back in the day,
Everyone in the early 90's had max power stickers on their cars, (as well as "on a mission" :)
We always had a copy hanging round, back in the days when there was only body kits were from Dimma or oem kits. . .
But last time i picked up a copy (literally picked up not bought) the blooming thing was just half full of sex line numbers and adverts.
