hello dear FIAT owners, I have a 2007 Grande Punto 1.2 8V. My Odometer (digital display of KMs covered) started flashing this morning , as if it's indicating that the engine have reached a milestone or something, the engine covered approximately 59000 so far, should I be worried and what needs to be done ?. thanks

Nothing serious - Have you recently disconnected the battery? Mine sometimes does this whenever the battery is disconnected.

Try disconnecting and re-connecting the battery - do it a couple of times if it doesn't work first time round.

Should fix it.

it's a self destruct warning.

you should watch less tv dear willp27: I will try that, even though the battery has not been disconnected

As Most Easterly Pandas says - it needs a Proxy Alignment.
The CAN bus has noticed a component that is not configured (or is incorrectly configured) and is flashing to tell you.
A dealer can do it, or you can do it yourself with FiatECUScan.

It also can happen if systems get confused. I've had it happen on mine a couple of times when the Blue&Me computer has crashed. In both cases I turned off the car and left it overnight and it sorted itself out by morning.

Well, after turning off the car for a couple of hours, the display was back to normal. thanks to you all for the replies. have a good evening everybody
