Anyone else's wheel done this? I've not had it do it on my Tipo or Marea which both had leather wheels.

Not been to Fiat about it yet, I'm there often enough getting bits for the Tipo!

Glad to see you obviously keep both hands on the wheel. I know my car has only done 9600 miles, but theres no detectable difference between the bit of the wheel I hold ( same as you ) and the same material below the spokes.

Try a search in the GP section Hellcat... been seen a few times on the leather wheels... :D ;)

I had exactly the same thing on my wife's Nissan Micra "leather" steering wheel. I did wonder if it was some hand cream or similar that had chemically attacked the material, causing it to soften and well.. melt !

Anyhow I should have taken it back to Nissan and complained (although out of warranty at the time). Knowing Nissan they would have probably changed it to keep me sweet. Anyhow, today it still looks like this and gets a bit sticky in hot weather or after a long journey.

Either way, glad I'm not the only one who has seen this.

Just hope I don't get it on my soon-to-be-delivered Sport TJet 150 as well as the mrs' car !

Steve.

Ours (now at 48k miles) is like new, looks nothing like yours. Get it in to Wentane and tell them to sort it.;)

I'm having my steering wheel replaced for the same reason. it's warranty covered.

What year warranty have you got it replaced under??

Hellcat ours has done the same thing just not quite as bad as yours yet but FIAT are refusing to touch ours under the 3rd year......

I had the same problem in my GP - garage wouldn't replace it saying it's "wear and tear" but when i asked for a number to Fiat H.O. they said that they will have a second look...
Steering wheel has been changed for a brand new but the new was not with perforated part of the leather and afaik they are not doing the perforated leather steering wheel for GP anymore...

I have a problem now cause i want to clean mine (as it's a bit sticky) and i can't find anything for the perforated steering wheel - any advice? Defo not soap and not the water - only advice for pro stuff please!!

Well have been told all internal trim is 1 year warranty only. Not a happy Hellcat. They've entered a case anyway and if it's rejected by Fiat I'll be taking it higher.

How olds your Bravo Tad, any more details that could support my case?

Strangely enough I don't think the newer Bravo's have the perforated leater parts either - so obviously something caused the design to be changed.

1yr warranty on the interior? What a cop out! What with 1yr (or 2yr) warranties on the standard head unit, a 3 (or even a 5yr) warranty covering the car seems a bit like a chocolate teapot....exceptions everywhere. Car manufacturer really should impose 3 or 5yr clauses in their component supply agreements to ensure the entire car is covered. No wonder Fiat (and some other) dealers have a bad reputation.

Anyway, attached is a pic of my October '08 Bravo with ventilated/perforated steering wheel. Not sure about the newer models.

Yep, 21c at 0740.....yuk. And yes, sidelights on in bright daylight. With a dash so pretty, I want to be able to see it and can't be arsed to turn them off/on :)

With mine being a black car, I use this equation: black car + bright sun = invisible in shadows. Keep the sidelights on so people can see me!

Just had a call from the garage, seems the factory have given them the provisional go ahead. Will keep everyone up-to-date.

Out of interest how does the ventilated leather part feel? The Mrs's Croma has a similar wheel but the ventilated part feels substatial just like the non-ventilated part. On my Bravo it feels softer, like a smooth suede rather than leather.

Nice one Hellcat, there should have been no question about it really but as long as they are doing it!

MikeyD ours is a Sept 08 (30th IIRC) and we have the old dials, the ones you can hardly read in most lights. Wonder when they changed them?
