Hi guys. Before I get the car booked for a check, I would be happy to gather some opinions. I noticed a loss of power in low/mid range yesterday.

First thought it was because of the A/C (I only use it since the last couple of days), but this morning tried with A/C off and same thing. What's even worse, as soon as the turbo builds up, there is a strange noise over the usual "whoosh" from the turbo. The sound is something like when you fill a balloon with air and just let it fly around the room until the air is depleted. It's only audible when the turbo builds up completely. Before that everything's fine, except the loss of power.

Any ideas?

Or a split pipe could cause exact same symptoms.Split pipes are alot harder to find but have a check around and see what you can find

Another one for the loose/off pipe or pressure leak here. Good luck.

Went back from the dealers - nothing. We tested the car, measured Turbo pressure with some gauge and everything was near perfect. Of course the sound was gone too, so I felt really stupid. Told me to pay attention and bring the car back as soon as the sound comes back. If...

They also made me pay for the check, as since nothing was discovered, this is not considered a guarantee check, but a "normal" one.

Have had the car in twice now for things they couldn't find. Not once have i paid for them to check it out, but that may be different in other markets. I feel it important to have them write down, have some sort of proof, that i have been there if something were to go wrong so that they can't say "Oh well you should have been here a year ago, now please pay up"

I had a similar problem - noise got worse and worse over 2 days - just like air from an air-line. Turned out the feed pipe to the intercooler had come off - so turbo boost was lost. Dealer replaced and double clipped it - took an hour - all back to normal now.

You shouldn't have paid for the inspection. That why the warranty is for.. Is there only one Fiat dealer in Sofia? Go to the other one..

It depends. What if I go every week for a "warranty check"? Just because I think I hear noises or just wanting to have my car checked for free? I kinda understand that position and all dealers around here do the same, not only FIAT's.
