Hi,

I have a '65 Fiat 600D that I trying to bring back to life. Not restore, really, because too much is wrong, rotted, missing or just wrecked, but just sort of get it patched together and made drivable.

I've made a couple of posts in the "other fiats" section, but nobody there seems all that familiar with the early 600s, I saw that the 600 doesn't have it's own forum (Why not I might ask?) but I was hoping that someone here might be able to help me out. Does anyone know of any on-line site or link where i could find a pic or PDF or whatever of a wiring diagram for the 65' 600D?

Any help would be huge !

Thanks,

T

During the 60s and 70s, Fiat Owner's Manuals/Handbooks used to have the wiring diagram printed in the back. Could give you another option to search for.

There's one here: http://safemanuals.com/user-guide-instructions-owner-manual/FIAT/600%20E-_S

Do you have a specific problem?

The wiring for small Fiats of that era was quite simple and they used similar wiring and colours for most models.

My little car was/still is pretty much a stripped out parts car when I got it. The dash is empty but for a few hanging wires. I've been gathering toggle switches and Veglia gauges where I can find them and made up a pod similar to the aftermarket Abarth repros and now plan on getting everything installed and wired up as far as the dash, gauges, switches, etc. go.

There are some wires running rearwards along the driver's side of the shell, which must be for the engine and rear lighting. The wiring up front is hit or miss.

This is why I was hoping for a schematic of what goes where and how. I've found TONS of them for various German makes, a few for British sports cars, but nothing so far for the Fiat 600. Seems like the 600 is the forgotten Fiat, but I still love mine, just gotta find some more info on how to get it back together.

Thanks,

T

Like Davron said, the early Fiat models were very similiar as to wiring. You could print the Haynes manual from the sticky above that oopsadaisy has thoughtfully provided us and rewire/trace your wiring like the 500 wiring.

Hi there all,
I have been restoring a 600D for the last seven years,on and off. I retired last September so now have more time. I have nearly completed a total nuts and bolts restoration. Not to mention a complete bare metal respray. I would be only too happy to help or advise anyone else trying to do the same. (email gpursh@aol.com) as well as posting the question on the forum of course. I have managed to solve almost every problem along the way. I have the Haynes manual as well as a Fiat factory manual, in English. I fitted the totally re-engineered engine last week and its up and running. Having made a new wiring harness all the systems are working, except for the charging circuit. I'm still working on that one. May well need a rebuilt dynamo and/or voltage regulator. I think the later are the same as the 500. To conclude I would say that these vehicles are well worth saving. I still smile everytime I go into the workshop. Also the Society of Motor Manufactures and Traders tell me that there are only seventy five of these vehicles registered with the DVLA and some of those will be LHD (mine is RHD).

Try to get hold of a Haynes Manual, they do pop up on ebay, and the wiring diagram is in there. I cut mine out and had it enlarged on a photocopier and then laminated. Good luck and please email me if I can be of any help. Peter

600D, E and R Spanish handbooks here af anyone still wants them. All have wiring diagrams.

Morning all;
I have a 600D workshop manual with a wiring diagram in it---if you want a copy of it, contact me direct with your address and I will copy it out and post it to you. I would have preferred to get a 600, but garage space wouldn't let me, so I have got a 500 instead!
