Hi one and all, I am after some insight to upgrading my 2.8 i.d.t.d headlights based on the x230.
I have seen the 244 headlight and wonder if it is compatible? I have attached pictures, of mine and one of the 244 found in one of the forum questions here.

Hi Tom,

I do not normally get involved with styling threads, but your suggestion has a possible spares connection.

While the bonnet and wing cutouts appear to be identical, I suspect that the supporting cross member may be different.

The x244 lamp unit has a ball and socket mounting about halfway up the outer rear corner, and has two beam alignment adjusting screws one at the top just inside the bonnet opening area, and the second about halfway down the front inner edge, concealed by the grille

I suspect that your x230 may not be able to accept these mountings, unless you replace the radiator mounting panel.

Ther are also minor electrical differences. The x244 headlamps function as a four headlight system, with the dipped beam remaining on, when main beam is selected. (Fiat eLearn diagrams suggest otherwise, but not true.)

Thanks for the advice, I suppose my next question (for all) does anyone have a picture of the mounts on a 244 for me to compare.
