Technical Wiper Mechanism - weak?

After a few failures on the old 188 puntos..

And being in posession of some leftover parts.. new bushed arms

Do the 500 have a problem with the wiper mech failing??

Mine are pretty noisy on Rainy days..

But the mech is awkward to access in the 500.. so Im loathed to pull it all apart
'to just look'

Any pointers..??
Its a 2018.. but from Wales :)

Not sure about failure but they can certainly be noisy, juddery and operate with a fair bit of play. Bit of a shame really, can spoil the perceived refinement of the whole car when the wet stuff is coming down.

Haven't yet had to go in to replace an assembly though I have judiciously moved a passenger wiper on its spindle to avoid clashing with a driver's wiper on occasion...

I had to drop the passenger arm down a tooth on the spline due to excessive play on my daughters 2008 500 last winter. As when raining, the wipers would quite often tap each other during operation.
The car now has a triangle of doom, but at least they shouldn’t self destruct for a few more years?

Thanks.. :)

Its not awful..yet

Its 1st winter with me might change that !
Panda is not dissimilar and requires new blades more often than I and most others are prepared to provide. Its the solution to smoothe wiper operation. I find that by paying particularlattention to the cleaning of wiper blades the issues are reduced. I clean these every few weeks with meths and paper towel. It helps. The amount of crap on the wiper blades shouldnt surprise, but it does.
