Ok so just after I bought this car, I noticed wheel seemed at a canter, I checked the 4 bolts and 2 were un tightnable I removed them could see mid way (ish) the thread was really low, so I ordered 8 forgot sides, although only 1 loose on opposite side. So I got 8 new bolts I put them in, within a week the same side had a clang noise I checked again and 2 were again loose, so I bough new front wheel hubs, I put on new hubs at same time fitted new pads which had 1 clip missing from each pad, thought that may have contributed, I put on new hubs , attached alloys with new bolts , within 3 weeks 2 bolts are fairly tight but spin when to much torque applied, I'm only using a + 4 headed iron and tightening by hand, so I'm guessing maybe it's the bolts again, so I ordered longer bolts, but weirdly they go in but 1 of them is now spinning lose, I'm baffled.
NOTE THE LONGERBBOLTS DO PETRUDE FROM BACK BUT DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING
NOTE THE LONGER ONES CATCH ON THE REAR WHEELS
NOTE THE ORIGINAL BOLTS ONLY SEEM TO GO IN 1CM
NOTE THE LONGER PNES ARE TWICE AS LONG
NOTE SOME OF THE OLD BOLTS ARE WIGGLE BOLTS
NOTE THERE ARE SMALL SPACERS INSIDS THE ALLOY
NOTE I DONT HAMMER THE CAR

PLEASE HELP ME...

Sounds like previous owner has fitted some non compatible aftermarket alloy wheels. Many aftermarket wheels only use their own bolts.

Get correct fiat wheels (dont have to be alloy) with correct fiat wheel bolts. This will be your best option.

Just to confirm, are these the hubs you replaced?

Or was it the brake discs at the same time as the pads?

The only time I've had this was due to a damaged thread in a hub stripping the wheel bolts.

Cleaning up the thread in the hub with a tap fixed it for me. M12x1.25

I would have thought new hubs should cure it, as long as bolts are the correct thread.

Yer its the front hub, so I thought new ones solve any issues, but it seems as these are 18" could a bad balance do this? Or wheels to big for bolts or car in general? Thanks for reply rmjbn

P.s I got wiggle bolts, original bolts, long bolts does it effect if mixed?
Yes do not mix ....doing so is dangerous.

Only use the correct bolts for the wheels- if aftermarket wheels contact the wheel manufacturer to make sure the wheels are suitable for your car , that you have the correct hub adapter rings and get the correct bolts from the wheel manufacturer.

Wheel bolts vary massively not just in thread and length but also where the bolt head touches the wheel.

You don't want a wheel flying off and killing some one, possibly a child.

If hubs and bolts are new then there's no reason I can see why they shouldn't tighten.

As it's a safety issue, I agree with Jack above, best would be to fit the correct wheels and bolts for the car. Any other advice could only really come from the manufacturer of those alloys I think.

I have seen the aftermath of a wheel coming off a car due to incorrect bolts. LUCKILY the wheel ended up causing no injury, neither did the car.

Gives the impression previous owner has fitted aftermarket wheels without understanding what they were doing. Which is dangerous.

Whilst figuring out what to do with these rims, I'd be getting a set of the correct size wheels and bolts from ebay (search fiat bravo breaking), fb marketplace, or try http://www.failsworthfiatspares.com/

Thanks guys yer I agree I've done what I can even NEW hubs And bolts that are 4 my car, this failed so it's a cert that the car cannot take the grip at high speed and although it's good to handle there's an issue that's to do with the 18" thank you it's confirmed what I thought, I'm a delivery driver so it's back to scrap yard as suggested

Check your wheel specs, they should be written either on the front or the back. Are they 4x98 pattern? If not, that may be a problem..

They got 8 holes in the alloys , my car has 4 they a v shaped base at wheel, ive just cleaned everything up the spacers are rings that fit inside of the alloy bout 1cm thick, ive put in 4 more new tjet bolts it's tightened up all 4 good so I'm gonna try it on a short run now see if it's sorted hopefully getting rid of them others completely will help but I'm not confident

8 holes .....They are definitely aftermarket wheels and should only be used with bolts supplied by the wheel manufacturer

Anything else is NOT safe

Please get the correct Fiat wheels and fiat bolts for your car .for your sake, your child sake and everyone else around you.

The current wheels and bolts could render your insurance invalid , think about knock on effect of that if you were to seriously injur or kill someone

If bolts continue undoing themselves, your best bet is original wheels or ones that are 4x98 28-33 ET and 58.1 central bore, without spacers.
