whats your insurance quote ?

ok i wouldent mind seeing who has the best insurance quote and with what company

can you all post with details as follows

Age : 20
NCB : 2 (3 in feb next year)
Car Engine : 1.4s
Mods : Alloys
Security : Toad (dunno which model but it cost me £500)
Points (sp30's etc) : 3 points which expire nov next year
Ins Company : Mayfair (bunch of ******s)
Insurance price per year : £1184
Full comp/Tpf+t : Full Comp

as you can see i have filled in my details above. When i took out my insurance cover in febuary i asked to be placed on the "modified car" cover, they put me on the standard car cover, and as i have found out recently even a minor modification will cripple me, for adding alloys my premium went up by £230.

we are currently in a despute.

obvioustly when i am due to renew my cover i wouldent mind a list of a few good companys because as of Feb 1st i will be serioustly going to town on my bravo (assumeing the despute is settled then it will be sooner)

I insurance is with Admiral and they seem to be quite good for price....not sure how they'd be with your points though as I didn't have any.

They gave a mate a his best insurance quote on a Pug 205 and he had 6 points on his license so they may still give you something better than you are currently getting.

Some points I would make about whats most important to your premium with all of the major insurers.

Unless you have a group 17+ car it makes little or no difference what security is fitted to your car in terms of insurance premium

Also points for speeding make a tiny ammount of difference. Unless you have a drink driving conviction or 9+ points it isnt really a factor of more than 5%

One of the most important factors which hasnt been noted here is the age of the vehichle - the newer the car, the more money its worth and the more the insurance co will have to pay out in the event of a claim.

The other factor which makes a huge ammount of difference is where you live, and its very difficult to know exactly which areas are going to cost the most.

What I am basically saying is although its good to compare experiences of good/bad claims issues and customer service you arent going to be able to find the most competitive premium by asking people, you have to do the phoning round thing to get the best premium for yourself.

I think thats good for my age and considering i have no NCB

on my 1.8bravo hlx i pay £700 on my dads insurance (full NCB fully comp).
