Warning: Email Scam

Warning: Email Scam

ok, I shouldn't get dragged into all this, I've read the comments and I can really see your passionate about keeping people safe from online attacks.

But really, chill out!

There are a lot of forums out there, hell my email address is displayed on a lot of them. I'm sure if someone on here asked for my DOB or ASL i'd prob tell them.

Because I'm silly, don't think about the possible conciquencies...... no because if I thought about if I did XYZ someone might copy me, pretend to be me, or decided to infect my computer, wait for me to access a non secure website and put my credit card details in, while having my firewall off...

I'd never leave the house!

I mean, hell someone might copy my car number plate, better remove it! Some one my follow me home and find out my address, better go live in a tent. I might have a birthday party and invite some people... better not do that. Finally, I might go to a cash machine and the bloke behind me kill me as i've entered my pin code and steal all my money!

I have a choice, I enter my email address above and have it available so people can get hold of me. I turn up to BOO meets and meet the people I'm talking to on here.

For all I know, you could be the biggest hacker in the world and your trying to steal all our details or take over the BOO forum!!

Your concerns are noted & I'm sure anyone that uses BOO will decide if their e-mail address is typed in the top box or not.. or puts there name above that also. You have a choice on BOO :)

No, you're right, you shouldn't be dragged into it. Noboby asked your opinion and your remarks quite frankly smack of childish ignorance.

Those of you who think nothing bad will ever happen to you or think you know the risks involved in everything or who just don't care...that's great, keep doing what you're doing, my original post wasn't aimed at you.

This ain't about living your life in a bubble, it's about having a bit of knowledge and some common sense. I was just trying to provide the knowledge so stop ****ing ranting at me.

This topic should have been locked once Wimmy had said his piece. Nothing of any value has been contributed since.

End of.

You're right Nedge, you've contributed nothing of value apart from a very blinkered view of the issue of online privacy.

Tommy's points were valid and actually hit the nail on the head, You are very naive if you think that simply by removing a published IP address and email will protect you from any kind of attack on your privacy or data.

Your abusive nature here has been duly noted and this thread will now be locked. Please refrain from similar behaviour and feel free to continue using the forum in a polite and respectful fashion.

Should you wish to raise this matter further, please contact any of the moderators directly via email. Our contact addresses can be found at the top of the forum homepage.

Many thanks.
