Got myself a Vee Dub campervan last week, thought I'd share some pictures with you. Don't worry it's not replaced the Fiat but I'm sure they can both exist cohabitably (I thats even a word!).

It's a 4 berth with a fridge, sink, oven and grill, with swivel front chairs, 1.9 litre air-cooled engine, which sounds the dogs ******:slayer: Very spacious too. All that's wrong is a leak from the front, I think the front windscreen seals are damaged which isn't good seeing as these things have a bad reputation for tin worm!

The interior looks a bit cack but I'm doing it out bit by bit starting with the seat covers and curtains :yuck:

Any comments welcome.

right i think what we need to do is:
square front headlights with square spotlights, bigger bumpers, colour coded, nice subtle alloys (maybe porsche ones), lightly tinted rear lights, medium smoke tints all round. and your a good'un. always wanted a veedub camper/van to play with! and maybe a respray in dark met silver  budget allowing obviously lol

Doh! :bang:

Youve bought the wrong type of Vee Dub Van

You should have bought a splitty, youll be forever known as the owner that cudnt afford a proper van so settled for second best amongst the circles.

Looks clean. Stick a 3.6 porsche engine in the back :yum:

oooh we have another splitty fan! they are the most amazing looking vans ever! but cost like £5k+ for a good example! :bang:

You wish, 5k will get you a semi restored one. Or one that needs work

Immaculate examples restored to original condition go for closer to 15k :yum:

Which is exactly why I couldn't afford one! This one cost £1700. I've actually bought it with 2 other mates, but persoanlly I wouldn't have minded stretching my share a bit higher so we could have had a good bay window. But the T25's are more spacious and handle slightly better (like that matters lol), and they do have the same engines that you'll find in the bay windowed ones.

No square lights (n) Me like them round :D Porsche alloys :chin: I was thinking about getting some but our budget is pretty tight.

Wow that brings back childhood memories, my dad used to have one almost the same as that

Could well be the same one... its had loads of owners and is 25 years old..... aahhh maaan, thats older than ME!

I'm really chuffed with this van, I'd reccommend anyone buying something like this if you've got enough time to work on it. I love cars and have been obsessed with wanting faster cars and stuff, but this has bought a new meaning to cars for me. Just being able do stuff to it and eventually jump in it and drive to the coast whenever I feel like it  I've almost lost interest with my HGT, this thing has so much charisma. Perhaps I'm turning old

Cool!
We have a 1974 Bay Window that my grandad had a year from new and we brought from the family when he passed away.. we've just lowered it.. theyre great fun!!!

Have tried to add a pic,, not sure if ive done it right though!

wow that looks the bees knees. I've been modernising the interior this weekend, il get some pics up when it's at a suitable stage. Exterior is the same at the mo but in a few months I wouldn't mind putting some funky alloys on it and lowering it a bit too! It's cool the way all the other camper drivers wave at you when your driving it!

Bug Jam is an absolute must for any VW owner, weekend of alcohol, drag racing and dance (although best not in that order ;))

Here's a list of other events that you might like to visit in your VeeDub - in particular you might be interested in VanFest.. I Also highly recommend The Big Bang but thats a bit short notice probably.

Apple & Tirbocinqy - i subscribe to VolksWorld, there is a restored splittie in there for over £20k every month, £5k will get you a rotten to fook one unless the person thats selling don't know what it's worth. Bay Windows are also on the increase meaning the T25 has in recent years become all the more welcome in the VW community and tend not to be seen as not a proper one, in reality is a much better van and easier to live with than a splittie or Bay window. Bizzarly, the humble beetle remains cheap as chips and if anything have gone down in value over last few years.
Just read that back and sound a bit condencending, not intended just for your info - i know more about vw's than fiats

This is the one my mate has

Think it is a 1979, standard 1600 engine, lowered, resprayed into that orange from its original yellow, vw alloys, MG turbo seats, smoked rear lenses, QUAD exhausts! :yum:

If you want to go for a nice subtle look, this for me is pure sex

If you want to flash the cash go for this
