General Variator done at DTR

I bought my barchetta knowing the variator needed doing but I paid less than £2000 for it on an R plate.

Anyway took it to DTR this morning and had the variator, cambelt and idler all done with new oil and filters and some other bits and pieces including heatshield. I am absolutely over the moon with the change in the car. It now sounds lovely the clackety, London cab, diesel noise has gone!

I would use DTR again they are loads cheaper than fiat and know your Barchetta or Spider inside out... much more knowledge than the main dealer. Even if you have to travel a distance its worth going there.

Took the car in around 9.30 am and it was ready 3 hours later.

Had some really nice motors in there too.

Had a walk around Richmond park and stopped for a coffee whilst i waited. Barchettas are everywhere round there!

DTR certainly know the ins and outs of the B and are far cheaper the Fiat servicing, to be frank every dealing I have had with Fiat parts or servicing has not gone well. My B goes in once a year for a full service as well as any repairs that need doing that are over my head. last year I had the same things done as you and was happy with the quality of the work DTR did.
I have found that DTR are good for the day-to-day stuff but anything like fabrication is not received with any enthusiasm, I wanted electric mirrors and central locking fitted as my B never came with them, DTR did not want to know or even look into it for me, In the end I got hold of the parts and fitted them myself.

DTR website could do with a bit of work, OK a lot of work… but that’s just me.

My B was sold by DTR to the person I got the car from and I have more bills then you can imagine from DTR. Would I recommend DTR to any B owners? YES I would.

yep recently bought a dtr exhaust which was shipped to sweden without hassle. good price and the mechanic who put it on here loved the quality. shipped with parcel2go.com for £31 so all in all a good deal. happy bunny
