Hi guys, I'm getting a brand new Fiat 500, decided not to go for the Supagard as forum users tell me I can get a kit and do it myself for a fraction of the price. Various advice from here told me to go to a really good valleter or get a mobile valleter to come to me and get the car clay barred and waxed properly and scotchguard the interior etc then just clean it myself from there on. Does anybody know of any good ones in the West Yorkshire area?

My suggestion is to go on to this website -
www.detailingworld.co.uk

Sign up if you haven't already.

Post a thread in the general chat asking for someone in the Yorkshire area to Detail your car.

If you are after perfection after getting a brand new 500 -
DO NOT GET THE GARAGE TO CLEAN IT UPON EXPECTION!!!
Instead, keep it dirty and get it booked straight into a proffesional.

If you have any problems, im sure people on detailingworld will steer you in the correct place. Great bunch of people.(y)

Eeeek! Looks like I've caused a riot on DW saying that doesn't it? lol. I've probably got the wrong end of the stick then! I'm sure somebody told me I could get it done for £50. I will try and find the post :S

Ahhh! Riot.

I wouldn't really worry about the expense, it'll only be minor correction work and protection, most proffesional shouldn't charge over £150/£250 ish.
:D

Right then, who said £50? lol

'then phone round local mobile valet places and get a quote.

You should get a really thorough clean and wax done (polish won't really be necessary as polishing is to remove/cover up small scratches and your new car should not have any) which will then protect your car for a few months. The same guy should be able to Scotchguard the interior. It shouldn't cost much more than £50 all in I would think'

From RobinPJ on Thread in 500 section called 'Supagard' I apologise he said shouldn't cost much more than £50. Which I think sounds reasonable and Robin has been really helpful. On DW when they say £450 that's just insane!!!!

You pay for the best unfortunately, a new car paintwork detail shouldn't cost anywhere near £450.

Seeing as it is indeed a Fiat, it will come out of the showroom with some blemishes.

Most of the time, the average joe wont notice this.

Seeing as you want a valeter, my suggestion would be to go to halfords.

Buy a multi pack of microfibre cloths. A bottle of super resin polish by Auto Glym. And perhaps some High definition wax kit as well.

Yes, I may do that, have found a local valeter that says he will do paint protection and interior protection for £90.00. He says the kit costs £40 and £50 for him to put it on. I wouldn't be spending £450 after all it is a car and it lives outside so it's never going to be completely blemish free is it? But £90.00 sounds reasonable to protect the interior from my water spillages and the paintwork from the dreaded trees outside my house. Eklipze I'm from Cleckheaton!
