Hello

I just bought a Panda Val d'isere!!!

I'm trying to work out how the roof rack fits at the front of the rack?

Anyone have any ideas?

I'm also after bull bars and rear indicator cages if anyone has any going spare please give me a shout.

Cheers

Hi and welcome!

Take it that you have bought a left hand drive one.. are you in the UK? Can't help with the roof rack question (my Panda has twin sunroofs, so no rack!) but I'm sure one of our knowledgeable members will be able to assist.

Charlotte had some bull bars for sale on ebay, I don't know if they've been sold yet..

Cheers,

Plug

where did you buy it....Pics please.....

I don't get what you mean re the roof rack....but there are several types.

Hope this helps...

Thanks for the info,

Yeah, I bought the car to keep here in Chamonix as a run about, its a bit
rough but I'm keen to fix it up a bit. Panda 4x4's are really sort after around here and this keeps the price quite high. Anything up to €4000+ for a good example. I paid €2000 and it needs a fair bit of tlc.

Image '1' shows the rack that I have, but on closer inspection I seem to have a couple of brackets missing that secure the front of the rack to the car.

Went out for a quick spin tonight on some local snowy roads to test out the 4x4, what fun!!

Will post some images soon

Cheers

Hi & welcome to the best Classic Panda Forum.

Mandapanda has bull bars and roof rack, with bars. If you need any pic's of particular bits - just let us know. (y)

The above was owned By Damien (panda valdisere) from the Cannes area so not a huge distance away, last we heard the head gasket had gone....I'm assuming your near the mont blanc tunnel, beautiful part of the world.....

Was there a while back..

I can see the tunnel from our place!

Just had a chat with a fiat dealer in the UK he pretty much told me to
go shopping on ebay rather than go through main dealer for parts?!

Is there a UK dealer that stocks older parts more than others.

Trying to get some bushes for the gear linkage, its like stirring watery custard!

Also needs rear shocks, front discs, oil & filter, plugs, points etc.

The last owner was a French dude, and he paid €3900 two years ago:eek::eek:

Cheers

The bushes will help play on the levers but if the box is like stirring porridge it's probably the box itself, try flushing and replacing the oil which will prob help somewhat...use only ZC90 which is still widely available in europe but very difficult to get here.

As for parts there not stocked by the dealers in the UK and normally on order from the warehouses in Italy. So a good dealer will get the parts ordered a bad one won't bother. The Panda was on sale till 2003 in europe so you will probably have more luck to get parts in stock where you are...

You won't need points as it will have electronic ignition, discs get from a motor factor and will be about the same price or cheaper than the pads. Oil and filter can be got anywhere, rear shocks get on ebay.

If you need any part No's let us know....a very special little panda you have, one of the very rarest.

Thanks for all the advice, I'm just off down the local scrap yard because I spotted a 4x4 down there yesterday.

I would be really interested in getting hold of a parts manual, does anyone have an email-able version. Might make life easier when I'm trying to parlez avec les Frenchies down at the local Fiat garage. Still not fixed the roof rack, it seems I'm missing the part that holds the front of the rack down to the car? Couple of bits of metal strip I'm guessing. Going to try to get some 4x4 decals and gear linkage bushes today. Mmm what's that in French!? Havay vou bushes pour la gear linkage! Ha Ha!

The bushes will be as cheap from the dealers, they are maybe a quid or less over here so a couple of euro's your way...

The later roof racks are bolted to the roof but the metal they bolt onto is an aluminium plate and as such can easilly scrub the thread. Look under the roof lining you will see a bit of flat metal sticking out of the side holes, this is to hold the plate in place whilst it's being bolted on.....

Hey Alan D

Looking at parts image I have roof rack with '1', I need the bits of metal that stick down and go around the top of the door frame.

Tried to get decals from French dealer today, none available!?

Got some gear linkage bushes and rear shocks though!!

Cheers
