Tuning upgrading The turbo on JTD

hi guys im lookng at upgrading the Turbo on Nero as its making a Squeeling noise ... so thing my bearings have gone , sooo been looking at Alfa owners website and there is 25 pages im starting to read though ,,

im wanting a "bolt on" turbo that will be a upgrade , Ive read that the Alfa 5 cly derv one will bolt on and as a upgrade is this Right? this is a alfa 156? ,, it dosnt matter about intercooler pipes ect as im going to putting a fmic on so can route my pipes to suit

im affraid its a question of how much power you want and more importantly how much you want to spend.
the turbo wouldnt be the end , other stuff might start breaking plus cost of remap etc to take into account larger turbo control issues on vnt.
i have managed to get to 200+hp with my modified gt1749v made into a gt1752v hybrid and theres a few 8v that have gone gt1756v hybrid.
ill try to find some turbo threads and stick in here.
even the jtd16v turbo is supposedly a mild upgrade for the 8v due to slightly larger vnt vanes but does require new studs/ holes to match ports and a bit of porting.
im sure someone did this also on alfaforum possibly yanko

from enquiries a while ago hybridised std turbo to say cutback turbine and 52mm or 56mm compressor in larger housing or machined larger to suit should be looking at £400-£600

turbine and compressor wheels numbers should be listed in there they may fit the 8v also?

Thank you for the links mate , I was Looking at going to the brakers yard , and get them off a selection of cars , I have got a Remap lined up so dont need to worry about that ,

soo off to look for a list of cars to take them off
