Technical uno injection system

I am from India, having some problem with my UNO 1.2 petrol year 2000 model, my engine is not taking pick up and when its in motion the engine misfires frequently ( not getting sound from silencer ) but while driving feels like fuel delivery is stopped for a while, so i press little clutch give little accelerator, thats how i am managing but need your help...also injection system failure light turns on in the dashboard..what must be the cause of this problem..pls help

We need someone who knows the injection system fitted to these 'late model' Unos - I don't. Perhaps someone from South Africa could comment, though I wonder if the Indian Uno may be unique?

It could be that your accelerator cable needs adjusting. Check that it is fairly tight (needs to be a few millimetres of cable movement before the throttle starts to open). I think these cars have a throttle position sensor and it's critical that this is matched to the throttle opening amount.

Perhaps you should also replace the fuel filter and fuel pump pickup (check the fuel tank sender, fairly easy to remove once the rear seat is folded forward and the floor material lifted).
