Hi, this problem has just started today I have a 93 Uno and all the electrics just cut out every now and again, and then they will start up again... The problem involves, windscreen wipers, lights, heater, Petrol Gauge, warning lights pretty much everything that could go wrong has.... Any Ideas welcome,

The battery light and the oil light still work though...

Thanks in advance.

Jim

Next time it does it, try wiggling the key in the ignition. As most of the circuits are affected in your case I suspect it's likely to be a faulty/ worn ignition switch. The only other cause I can think of is a dodgy earth, though this normally gives erractic operation of warning lights/ gauges.

Have you checked obvious things like battery connections and earth cables?

I have had a look at the wireing under the casing and had a test with each wire, have tightened up the connections. Its been working for the last hour now, maybe its a fix...

How do I check the earth cables??

Fingers crossed! (y)

Make sure they are connected securely. Also make sure they aren't covered in corrosion, and it's worthwhile cleaning them up to shiny metal and also doing the same to the earthing points they bolt/ clip/ connect to.

Welcome to the forum by the way!
