Hi all, do you know where can i get a chiptuning for my Uno 1.1ie?
Thank's

As MEP says, it really wouldnt be worth it. The biggest limiting factor on the FIRE engine is the carb/MPi body & inlet manifold size, if you want more performance from it you`d have to look at making a manifold to either fit a bigger twin choke carb, or bike carbs (matched to a ported head, larger valves & a better exhaust manifold).

The later 1.2 MPi 8 valve FIRE engines are restricted by thin manifold piping too & would only offer you an extra 10-12 bhp using standard parts.

You could fit the 1.4 16v engine, but you will have to be good with electronics & even then you`d still have problems because of the ECU needing a wheel speed sensor signal, which uses the ABS sensors on late Fiats, but you dont have these on the Uno.

Look through Leweys Tjet conversion post:

Now that is interesting - applies to mk2 1.2 16v as well?

Any other inputs essential to the engine management aspects of that ECU (excluding things like alarm/disabler), that for example my 70SX wouldn't provide?

Lewey is the man to speak to about that Tom, he`s done a 1.4 FIRE N/A Panda & is doing a 1.4 T-Jet (FIRE Turbo) Uno, so he`s acting as the tester!

From what I understand its perfectly feasable physically, even the immobiliser can be used, but the sticking point seems to be the lack of wheel speed sensors needed to make the current FIRE ECU function properly, but as I say, he`s the man to speak to in detail about it, or read through his posts on the Panda & Uno (both very interesting, set aside a few hours!).

Get serious boys !
The easiest way to get more performance is to get rid of weight.
So the driver hast to stick to a strict diet,
swap the spare tyre with repair fluid bottle
and remove the rear bench.
And not to forget ,remove all the unnecessary garbage in the car.
Give the carpet a good cleaning too :slayer:

Don't forget to wash and wax the car on a regular basis also to make it more slip stremed! ;)

I actually did that on my first UNO 45 .
When the time came to say good by , I ripped the complete interior
out except the driver seat.
It was astonishing how agile the car became without the plunder.
Not to mention the loss of weight due to corrosion :yum:
