General underseat storage (Photo's)

I picked up our new twinair plus on thursday last week and it's just occured to me that I've not been able to figure out if I have underseat storage. It doesn't appear in the manual but I assumed that if you don't have an interscope system that you'd get the underseat storage? Design change perhaps?

Does anyone have photo's of the storage area and how to access it? sorry for such a strange request

It should be there unless you've asked for the Interscope system or the memory seat on the passenger side.

To open it you have to pull the front of the seat upwards, then when it's opened up you have to pull the back up the same way. The seat should then fold forwards and reveal the secret storage.

is there some sort of catch anywhere? just been out and can't lift the front of the seat up. it looks identical to the drivers side

There's no catch. Just lift the front of the seat up. If you've got the storage compartment it should lift up very easily about 2-3".
If it doesn't lift up, then sorry, but you haven't got it!

We're both in the same boat (leather seats & no storage). My last car had nothing in the way of a glovebox so I guess the lack in this car doesn't bother me either

It'a a shame you don't have it, but I'd much rather have the leather seats too! Incidentally, my Yaris also has an underseat compartment, but it's a tray that slides out. Which is actually more useful as it holds more and can be accessed with someone sat on the seat! I used to store my sat nav in the 500 seat compartment and if I forgot it was in there after a passenger had sat in I had to ask them to get out again! :bang:

I realise this is after the horse has bolted and that you have already determined why you don't have the storage, ie. leather seats but I have posted pics below for the benefit of other owners who may be in the same boat.

Newbie question - is a basic spec 2011 1.2 Pop (with cloth interior) likely to have the underseat storage? Just I'm in work now so won't get a chance to nip out and try it so just as easy to ask on here...

If you don't have any of the following

Interscope
Leather seats
Passenger seat memory

Then you will have the underseat storage.
