up till wenesday been working fine then stalled and wouldnt start. after a few turns of the key i got it started and got it home, since then its started once every 6 - 8 turns of the key .. got some advice and we put a new crank shaft sensor in, a new ignition coil and cleaned the ecu relay..
any idea what he should be trying next? hes had the spark plug out to see if its firing and theres no spark.

e also tried a diagnostigs (sp) but it wont connect up .

yes it has the immobiliser but through this forum we bypassed it as per insturctions and the spark plugs are not wet.

we havn't checked that bit yet. there is no smell of petrol, even after trying to start it for about 5 minutes. so it might possibly not be.?

hubby says i dont explain things very well, he has cchecked and cleaned the connections on the ecu and on the double relay. when you turn the ignition on te relay clicks then clicks again. there is also a click from a relay in the fuse box.

how do yu tell if the fuel pump is priming?

its a bit dark and cold to do that tonight hubby will give it a try tommorow.

if there is no petrol ! then what.
if there is petrol ! then what.

sorry for the delay in getting back , they petrol pump does not seem to be working .

think T's just trying to narrow it down.
TBH you can often hear the fuel pump whirring for a second when you turn the ignition on

I posted on another thread regarding the immobilser. Disconnected as instructed and it seemed to work ok and then nothing, couldn't get the car to start. However when I put the key in the ignition I used to hear the whirring sound. Didn't know what it was untill now. Thing is when I put the key in the ignition and hear the noise I know the car will start and sure enough the immobliser goes to green and I can start the car. But when I put the key in the ignition and I cannot hear the noise I know that the car will not start and the immobliser would lock out.

Question is: can a faulty relay cause this problem, and where in the engine compartment would i find it?
