HI......strange being here (first time I believe?) anyhoo....

looking for help with a part number, searched through eper without success and through the previous posts.

on the throttle body is a 'solenoid' on the left side (as you look at it) with a 6 wire multiplug on it and held in by 2 x torx 20 screws which i believe lets air into the engine when butterfly flap is closed thus acting like a stepper motor.

can anyone identify/part number this or have a picture?

here it is (arrowed) got this pic from a German webpage...apparently they were used between the seperate idle actuator and the fly by wire throttle setups.

i got no idea pop along to your local dealer an ask if you can speak to one of their DET's they should know

I did & he was really helpful, made me a coffee (and doughnut) and we talked for ages on Fiats, swopped phone numbers and later went to the pictures but unfortunally the parts department couldn't identify the part & said it comes complete with throttle body for £600+

My Barchetta used to have one of those.. it was a cable throttle 2000 reg'

Do not try and move the plunger by hand as you will break it.

The idle valve comes complete with throttle body, last time I checked £350 plus giving them your old one back.

There is no way around this, I took a great deal of time finding this out.

I think it is an idle control valve aswell.

Im not sure it is right but have a look at this PN:46473851 (18 ELECTRO-VALVE)

I thought it was that aswell adrian but it doesnt 100% look like the part as there is no diamond shaped bracket with the 2 screws on it...not that eper drawings are that clear anyway.

That part is £130.
 
I've just checked and old Fiat Compact Parts CD Ed.22 Date 03-1999

This shows a solenoid throttle body valve with Part No: 60608904 costing £123.89 in 1999

In Jan 2009 this part is listed at £220.32 (including VAT) and show as used in:

Bravo, Brava, Marea, Coupe, Barchetta, Delta and Dedra models.

Bit that really puzzles / concerns me is the MASSIVE price hike, almost doubling in 10 years, plus the fact that the part on the latest ePER is not listed/viewable.

Barchettaparts or DTR were on here saying they had a load of old B bits. Give them a try?
 
Yes if you look at eper there are quite a few surprises, ask a GP owner how much a 1ft piece of rubber pipe costs (£28!) or why a manual rear window regulator for a GP is twice the price as an electric one:confused: Theres making a profit (perfectly acceptable) but theres ripping the f*cking hole!

Anyway, yes its strange while the stepper motor isn't shown on eper, stepper motors for many cars can be brought from germany for £25-30 (no barchetta though:bang:) so why do you have to buy the whole lot now at a huge price that makes you wonder if its worth keeping the car!

The mk1 ICV can be found for about 30€ on ebay. I have it and works flawless.
The mk2 ICV is a bit harder to find but you def won't need to change the complete TB. It's just held with 2 screws and is easily taken off.

I would first try to clean it. You can take the plunger out and clean the darn thing. I've done it a couple of times with the mk1 ICV's

You probably got problem with the car stalling when pushing down the clutch, and flutuating rpm when stationary
