just thought id post up my 2 penny's worth.

finally got round to fitting it today, was easy enough as had all the correct tools.Well apart from the very small torx screws that are screwed onto the plug, luckily i found a very thin allen key.

Anyway, after having the battery off for 2.5 hours (due to popping out) fitted it all back up and went for a spin for 15 mins to an industrial type area with a long rd.
I gota say,2nd and 3rd you can really tell a differfence it just flies and pulls all the way!
once in 3rd,the steering wheel went light felt like it were gona take off lol Never tested 4th 5th as ran oiuta rd and plus only nipped out for a quick drive.

all in all £25 well spent!

Thanks Kee :)

I have to say I'm totally used to my FCP chip and can't remember what the car ran like before it!

I've been running the chip about a year, been to Spa for some track time with it and am happy!

As Mike said above, the 155 can't be chipped.

Interestingly even with the chip, the 155 will have an edge on the 147 as I found out on the track! (in accelerating) Although I'll be retesting the theory again next June when I return to Spa - I want to improve my exits from corners and see if I can possibly do anything else to give it the upper hand ;)

For £25 tho, its a bargain buy :)

Actually the difference on the track between my chipped 147 and a standard 155 was that the 155 was able to accelerate faster from the lower gears but once you're hammering down the track in 4th (80+) the 147 catches up - which is where I think the chip starts to come into play.

All about revs, keep them up and get into 4th soon as :)

Don't suppose you know this insy, but how does a n/a coupe perform compared to a HGT? The HGT is lighter if memory serves correctly?

Don't know to be fair, but I'm sure the HGT is lighter.

yer karl :) We'd have to organize it proper 1 night and do a few runs etc then we'd get the results from a chipped mk1 to a standard mk2.??

Insy: wheres spa? you dont mean santa pod? I dont know of many race tracks.

Yes I'm referring to Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. If the track is good enough for F1, it'll do for my Coop ;)

can someone explain how this chip works and how easy is it too fit ? where do you get one and cost. i take it will work on the 147

http://www.fcperformance.co.uk/fiat-coupe-bravo-hgt-20v.php#chips has details of the chip itself

Fitment is relatively easy. Just locate the ECU (drivers footwell possibly), unscrew the casing and then unclip the outer casing to reveal the pcb. Pop existing chip out with paperclip and then fit new chip.
