Lads this just gets better and better!!!! Daddy has just paid about £700 to get the gearbox and clutch fixed, the wheel bearings and pads changed and then he is told that the reason I buggered the gear box was thrashing the car beyond its limits because the stupid **** that owned it before me let it run out of oil while driving it and so I am now running on 3 cylinders!!!!The best bit of all that (yes it gets worse) is that I have 2 options, I can either buy a second hand engine and drop that in for £600 plus labour or I can go to Fiat and buy a new one plus labour
GUYS HELP!!!!!!
Suggestions on how I can save my Dad from bankruptcy would be much appriciated!!!!

!

Tell your dad to nip to halfords and buy you a bike!

I hate to ask, but did you check all the fluid levels when you first got the car?

As the rest of the car sounds just as knackered, I would bother with a new engine.

I think by the sounds of the rest of the car, I would get it running as far as you can and do what the previous person did and flog it on, just let us lot here know the registration number!

Re: !

My Dad says its too late to flog it now that we have spent that much getting it fixed and its booked in again on Monday, Im hoping that once all this is done it will be a sound little runner - am I dreaming?

I agree with Nige get rid! I know a lot of people that have bought cars that have been treated badly by their previous owners and they have had nothing but trouble! One problem to another, I reckon by time you have finished getting it to the standard it should be at your gonna be nearly end up paying as much as you did for the car! :0

I could be totally wrong and once you have got these problems sorted the car could be sound and never go majorly wrong again, just my opinion :)

Help

You have bought a 'mare! This would be OK if you knew your grease nipples from your r's pipe but if you are going to a garage everytime you are going pounds in!

Come on guys, there must be someone here who will get there hands dirty north of the border for a few beers and help Nadine out. I am too far south (and have me own car troubles - more expensive than Nadines as well!). I have seen lots of posts on get togethers, here is an ideal oppertunity to show yer metal.

Nadine, how about an evening class in mick and nicks, then you could tell US what to do! I can help but only by email as you are too far away and I my only mode of transport is currently doing 10 mpg and has a lump in her throat!

Help may be here

My engine blow-up in my Bravo 1.4, which was a stolen recovered, so I have build it right up from nothing, new engine which cost me £450, new cutch, and bastically everything else, Starter motor alternator (which was a pain in the back side, you need very small hands to work on a bravo engine).

Each time I replaced something another component went.

New CV joint bearing on the front and a shock and exsault on the back.

I live in Manchester and will be able to get most major engine and body parts cheap. Also if you close may be able to lead a hand or give you a quote to sort it out. But just have to sort my Bravo out 1st with the interior and exterior :)

Re: Help may be here

Cheers lads for all the support! Unfortunatley for me my Dad has no clue about the mechanics of cars, he just knows how to race them to within an inch of death. I have a good few mates who are mechanics, 11 in fact one of which served his time at Fiat but my Dad is having none of it and says that at least he has some sort of come back if there are problems with the parts and service - I cant really argue cos I certainly dont have money to pay for all this right now so Im just going along with it and dread pay day next month when I have to start paying him back. Did try and argue my case but hey as long as the car is still going I shouldnt really complain
Cheers again though
