I have a 1.6 16v ELX Multipla with Ravenna-options ( 11/2001 ). Now I'm wondering about the digital temperature display besides the clock. I've bought this car used and the temp display hasn't worked at all. I was told that even if there is a place for the temperature display in the panel it can be that there is no "gadget" in the front end that measures the current temperature. Can anyone tell me where that measuring device is located so I can myself check do they tell the truth in the service depot or are they only lazy... Of course it can be only a loose cord etc. but anyway I think it's quite odd to have a display but have nothing to display

I had the same problem on my 2002 1.9JTD. On the back of the radiator is a sensor....on mine the contacts of the connector plugged in were green with corrosion (due to water splashing up in the engine bay) so I cleaned the contacts and all is ok.

I've got the same problem on my brand new vehicle. As mentioned, it is something called an HVAC sensor I think (or just called air temperature sensor). Apparently, if it is dead, you get no display on the LCD and, if you have automatic climate control, only the manual controls work.

I could be wrong but isn't the outside temp sensor on the drivers door mirror, little bump that sticks out underneath the mirror? Will also upset the air-con as it goes into default -14oC so air-con doesnt know how cold it is.Could be getting mixed up with the Ulyesse here?
