Okay i suspect that i know what it is....

So
2004 Mk2b 1.2 8v
96k

Complaint = random banging noise in passenger side
Random speed bumps and random pot holes cause it
Can be somtimes heard if you do repetative throttle stabbings
Harsh feathered edge on inside of n/s tyre
O/s has slight feathering but not as bad

Only suspension components replaced in my owner ship are TRE, shocks and springs

When wuggling - no play can felt in the joints - no up an down slop can be felt in the top mount.

Last MOT threw up play in a few places
Both tre (which was odd as they were new like 1 - 2 years before)

O/s bottom ball and o/s top mount

Id like to say itz bottom ball joint
But.... my gut says it aint gonna be
Guts tellin me top shock mount is to blame...

Any suggestion before i rip it apart soon?

I am only in my armchair but if you get noise by playing with the accelerator when the weight of the car is on the ball joint and top mount then I would suppose the wishbones are moving backwards and forwards when you do that.

How about you open a book? I will donate 5 euros to the forum if i am wrong.

Well......
Werent till i had to jump start the mrs car that i found the mysterious banging....
Not till i wiggles the jumper cables to ensure a decent connection.......
It became clear the banging was the battery tray rocking around!

Nipped up tight and 1 noise is gone!
Now to tackle the chatter with an arm and mount refit!
