Hello,

Gave the Punto a wash at the weekend - no problems.

Lost my mind and washed wife's Zafira too - metallic silver.

I'd noticed some cloudy marks on the paintwork (90% of which are near the door handles) weeks ago, but didn't think too much about it. However, a hose down, wash, hose down and dry have had no impact on these marks at all.

The marks look like they could be from fingers coated in suncream.

Any suggestions as to how best to remove?

Regards,

Keith.

Hmm.. Start anyway the next time with a good wash, now after this there are many products you could use to remove this. I had something similar on my Hyundai and this is what I did;
Wash
Polish with super resin polish (mild)
This removed it for me, however if the srp doesn't remove move it I would suggest moving onto a " rougher" polish or compound ( small bit of tcut or similar cutting compounds. See how you fair with a mild polish before looking into anything with more of a cut. Start simple and keep moving up to more aggressive polishes etc.

Hi there,

Found some generic Asda car polish lurking in the back of the garage. Tried that, and it worked! Car looks much improved without the hand marks all over it.

Cheers,

Keith.

Hello,

Also glad they are gone!

The marks had been on the car for quite a while and had survived a number of washes intact; were in the shape of kids fingers / hands so pretty sure it was suncream.

Cheers,

Keith.
