hi folks, on the 126 are all the starter motors the same. ie pull wire. or are the later ones inb the key. unfortunately my project is not just outside. its 40 mile away. and my electrically minded mate. is making me a wiring diagram up. but he needs to know if the water cooled engine is key start with solinoid atatched to the starter or if it needs pull cord.
as i am a dumb **** all i can do is ask you guys, who will hopefully put us right. cheers, dread.

lovely thankyou. now i just need a good clear picture of wiring area for matey and or a bis online manual in english.
should any one know any. cheers again.

he is doing me an idiots key with all seperate colours, as i'm word blind, so i can't follow black n white line drawings. just looks like a bag of snakes. LOL.
i take it what he wants to know is 2 big wires live and earth strap, i take it. and is there provision for a nother live to flip the solinoid on the starter.
is that correct. not sure if it would be a spade nd or what ever.
but i will get me self to the subs pages next month. when me parts bill is paid up. just don't tell she who must not be named!:worship:

There's a big thick live from the battery too the starter and another thinner from the ignition switch. And a wide braided earth strap which bolts to the rocker cover. Putting a switch which connects the big thick live to the thinner post ignition switch would be easy. When I had starting issues all I did was bridge the two cable with a volt meter probe to start the car.

Hello. I'm in exeter Devon and in desperate need of a starter motor for my water cooled 126 starts on key (well it will do when fixed, ha!). Can pay postage. Any ideas? Sorry for small post. On iPhone. Thanks
