Just about complete with all the jobs i've been doing on the car, '91 750L.
it is idling really nice, but i notice when i move off from stationary, that the revs dip quite a bit and without revving hard (more than i'd expect) it will stall.

It maybe that i just need extra gas, but i'm finding the car noisy, i've fitted a new complete exhaust, and its not blowing anywhere, so when i pull away its seems excessive to rev so hard.

Any ideas.

it sounds to me like your acceleration jet may be blocked in the carb.

try this.. let the engine warm a then quickly press the throttle all the way down then let it return to idle.

if the engine stalls my guess that is it's blocked or the pump diaphragm in the carb has failed.

also check the vacuum advance actuator on top of the distributor. stick a bit of pipe on it and suck it to see if it holds a vacuum. if it does not, then it would mean your ignition timing will be wrong causing no end of issues.

hope this helps!
