About 5-6 weeks ago I changed the front tyres on my Mk2 ELX, they were Firestone (same as original ones), and now are Continental. Going round corners fast tight corners now gives squeals, when before there were none. It's also possible to gewt them on a quick gettaway. This is most annoying as it makes it look like I'm right on the limit of the car to other motorists, so they wont by a Punto
. I guess I'll just have to get used to it or will they wear/bed in with time? Would heat be an issue?
Also, while I'm posting about tyres/handing, earlier this week I managed to control a 4 wheel slide round a bend that seemed to be too slippery to take at the usual 40mph. Afterwards the sterring felt lighter for a while. Anyone else had that experience? I wish the councils would clean their roads of cr@p, so we don't all fall off/hit debris...
