:yeahthat: i've used ngk v groove in all my cars (well except the punto its diesel) and have found there just as good as any of the more expensive ones such as bosch super 4 and splitfire plugs

the plugs fiat tell you to use are all just as good as each other there are a few makes on the parts film ngk bosh champion

i have ngk at the mo and there fine

on such a simple engine using any thing else will not give you any more power thou so don't bother going and spending a fortune on v grove and such

thing is when most change thier spark plugs.... its usually when the old ones are way past there best so any new spark plug will always be better....
the iridium plugs are meant to last alot longer acording to the maker:confused: is this the case......

well yes they should and more conductive metals will give a better spark but in the end it wont make your car run any better just piece of mind really

the injection system on 8v puntos does not alter spark advance close to pinging as it has no knock sensor so no more power available with better spark

plugs supplied buy fiat are meant to be changed every 24000 or two years but tend to last allot longer maybe 40000 before they start to miss really bad

alfas use platinum tipped plugs that will go for 60k miles

iridium sounds good but it's nout special really much the same qualities of copper

Bosch super 4 plugs + Bosch high vol leads :D

finished off with a splash of WD40 to keep the rain and damp out (y)

Job well done i say and no crap used!:yum:

for my car from fiat leads are £29.40 and plugs are £20.96 punto 60s

personally i wouldn't trust anything any cheaper than this and really this is no a bad price for what they are i believe mine are champion plugs not ngk as i may have said before but still a very good make

i priced a set of leads for a 1.4 16v corsa b yesterday from vauxhall they were £106.73 just for leads and a single wire lambda probe was over 100 also ridiculous

people keep banging on about over inflated priced from fiat for this and that like coded keys and such but really they are some of the cheapest around compared to vauxhall ford and the likes of the french

Tell me about it its about £85 for a plug change on a TwinSpark  and thats if your doing it yourself. Cost me £15 on my Punto using Genuine NGK Platinum plugs.

you can get the plugs for alfa twin spark under ngk name for much less than 85 mate just look at the plug and order the same ngk number from ek's and you'll find it's exactly the same platinum plug only difference alfa boxed one is a little pricy that's what my dad does

you need to look at the code printed around the base of the plug just above the threaded bit

not if you've got a proper twinspark, as they have 2 proper sparkplugs per cylinder, not one sparkplug and one helper as in the new ones

that's how they always were one big plug one small pre ignight plug

the smaller of the 2 is fired slightly before the bigger meaning the flame front beginning to form from the small plug compresses the mixture more and the fact there is 2 flame fronts once booth plugs have fired means the fuel air mix wlll burn twice as quick

now you try tell me how 8 plugs can all be fired at different times with 4 coils that will confuse you

a few other companies have used 2 plugs per cylinder but only alfa(fiat) have set them off at fractionally different times to each over for every fire of the engine so really the alfa big plug and helper plug as you call it is the best system as it actually ingresses power and fuel economy
