Anybody know if this equipment for reading error codes stored in the electronics of "fly by wire" Ducato diesels is specific to Fiat ? Are only Fiat dealers likely to have this testing equipment ?

Depends on year of van but any generic code reader will read later vans codes but how effective they read/determine them is open to debate.

their are lots of code readers out their but none of them are nealy as good for diagnosing faults as the fiat one

only fiat dealers will have it thou

i shows the history of faults and curent faults also it shows peramiters of sensors wile the engine is runing and much much more on the stilo for instence you can practicaly activate anything on the car from the examiner as it's called

so best to let your dealer chech fings out
