With these Sachs shock absorbers for the front, I don't know where the second large washer is supposed to go.

From the photo, I have the pieces lined up for the top of the shock in the order in which they go (I think): Shock, large washer, rubber bush (flat side towards washer), inner sleeve, rubber bush (cone side up), cone-shaped washer, lock washer and nut. The marker represents the car body.

Where does the second large washer go?

The second set of washers and bushes for the bottom of the shock are identical. So, where ever the second large washer goes, will it be in the same order on the bottom?

I fitted the second washer Bob on top of the coned washer on the top as otherwise the nut would have nothing to work against as the hole is too big in the coned washer. It looks odd but was the only reasonable solution I could come up with?

Are you sure those shocks are for the front? The shocks I had that had the spacer tubes within the rubber bushes were for the rear for passing through the swing arm and rear body where there were cups already attached to body and swing arm.

The front shocks just need the rubber bushes going directly into the cupped profile of the wing and the large washer between the nut and the bush.

If your Sachs shocks have the spacer tubes on both the front and rear shocks, then the cup washer would go after the fist rubber bush before you pass the shock through the wing. Then on the other top side of the wing place the the rubber bush first and then the large washer with the finally spring washer and nut.

Those flat washers are annoying as my experience of original dampers is that they are all fitted with small, cupped washers.
I removed one especially for the occasion, just to confuse the issue.:)

I think some of the shock manufacturers still supply cupped washers.

Also just to clarify my post, the cupped washer in the original pic with the wider inner diameter and lip is designed to go between the body and the bush only, not between bush and washer/nut.
