Hello my friends !

Just finished restoration of rear suspension on my Fiat Seicento.

Restoration included derust, repaint, new shocks and springs, new wheel hub bearings, new copper brake pipes and brake hoses (on the whole car not just rear), new fuel tank and some minor stuff. All parts were supplied from Poland, I can recommend the suppliers if you live around.

Next on my list is all fluids, cooling system overhaul, engine gasket and some other gaskets and seals.

Feel free to ask if you are interested on parts, or how to do something 🍀

Today - engine gasket, timing belt, water pump, coolant and oil flush.

I checked the head for cracks or if its warped - seemed to be in a good shape.

And a fresh new gasket:

Gasket was changed because I found oil on the engine, but then I discovered it was because bad camshaft cover gasket, but at least both of them are done now.

Engine seemed to be in a good shape, only thing I found out that it is a little bit corroded on the water pump housing (and maybe somewhere else in the system), probably because previous owner mixed different types of coolant.

For water pump sealant i used Loctite silicone 270 C:

I put everything back, last thing I did was that I bled the cooling system.

It was a really easy job, all took me 1,5 working day with coffe breaks. Best thing about such engines is you have acces to everything and you can freely move around the engine bay without any obstructions.

Funny moment was when I started the engine to see if everything is OK and there was a huge smoke coming from the exhaust manifold - it was remains of the old coolant burning away from it.

Again if anyone will need some help with parts or anything let me know 🍀
