I have just purchased the latest 'Classic Car weekly' paper and the headline makes for sober reading. "Older cars (classics) are being targeted for theft":mad:. Seen as easy targets, owners are being urged to place as many physical barriers as possible in the thieves way to deter them. Protect your personal information and don't give out clues relating to your address etc. My garage is going to get an alarm on the door(s) pronto and I shall disconnect the battery and use a steering lock. Too much hard earned dosh has gone into my car to let it get lifted(y)(y)(y)

Ian.

i now have a "pac man" style steering wheel lock and a tracker.

First is very hard to remove

Second is a real means of ensuring its found if taken. £95 and £3 per month monitoring

Short of chaining it down to an eye bolt in the floor there is nothing else worth doing. It will fit in the back of a large transit - so it is easy to pick it up and remove it

What brand of tracker are you using Andrew ?
I'm sure you already did but have you tried to "loose" your car and see how accurate it is?
Thanks!!

We put it in my sons backpack and set him off round our home city.
Then went and found him - it was accurate to within 6 feet.
Its a GSM GPRS. & GPS with a sim card.
Its not branded - i got it from a specialist
I can even turn off the fuel pump remotely if its driven away.
It sends text if its moved out of preset (ie home) location
